CAMPBELL MacBrayne took the Dunaverty September Medal by the smallest of margins.
Despite playing the wrong ball at the par three 14th and incurring a two-stroke penalty, Donald Taylor, with the help of three twos, managed to return a scratch 66 to par the course and finish with a nett 59.
His stunning round was bettered still by Campbell MacBrayne who, with one two and six threes on his card, was awarded first place by virtue, on handicap, of a better last six holes. Donald had the lowest gross score, with CSS set at 63. Result: 1 Campbell MacBrayne 67-8-59; 2 Donald Taylor 66-7-59; 3 Bill Brannigan 73-12-61; 4 Alex Roxburgh 81-17-64(bin); 5 David MacBrayne 77-13-64; 6 Ross Sinclair 70-5-65.
