Although he’s an excellent producer and songwriter, last year’s joint album with Catherine Anne Davies was a reminder the world needs Bernard Butler as a musician, too. Finally reissuing his 1998 debut solo album, Butler really is revisiting it: he’s re-recorded the vocals for the whole album and its six B-sides, included alongside the original record. Butler’s vocals aren’t dramatically different, just somewhat better.
