As our masthead says on the front, DANTE covers everything from life and style to lifestyle and arts; matters of the head, and matters of the heart. Still, we enjoy producing the occasional special issue. So, this digital edition has a theme of all things green.
The recent decision by President Donald Trump to pull out of the Paris climate accords has consequences across nearly everything we write.
Many of our covers feature the work of artists, specially commissioned for DANTE or otherwise eye-popping. We recently met the remarkable photographer Belinda Wilson, whose work celebrates the beauty of landscape and more. Our cover image shows her picture Fantasia, exactly capturing the global significance we were looking for. There are more of Belinda’s images inside: the originals are huge and will be the subject of a London exhibition.
We are also hugely indebted to Sonia Strukul, an artist from Padua, whose environmentally-inspired works we use to illustrate both this letter page and also the Nonno Panda column. The story of fish suffering from pollution, as told by Muffy the Puffin to our wise grandad Panda in our closing story, has echoes everywhere - from the “Food for Thought” section, about contaminated food, to the review of the new Sea Gypsies film, set in Antarctica. Another chilling story comes from the other side of the world – the Arctic – where we discover a doomsday cache of seeds stashed away in the case of apocalypse.
In a sunnier moment, we include an interview with Luis Fonsi, the maker of the most streamed track of all time, Despacito, a hot song of praise for his native Puerto Rico. In a very different form of music, we feature a profile of Italy-based Emma Stace Darling, who apart from working with the New York Philharmonic on a new song cycle, is also a poet and painter.
Those bitten by the travel bug may enjoy Pano Masti’s recollections of classical train journeys...

Like The Economist for people with style

Like The Economist for people with style. Good range of topics and easy to flick through - very nice! Überprüft 16 März 2016

A great magazine

A great magazine – not about a poet of the past but a clever look into the future with informed predictions on just about everything. The app does it justice too. Überprüft 16 März 2016

The best all life and all style mag!

As an Italian who now lives in the UK,
having Dante magazine as an app
allows me to read topics that won’t get
a look-in in other magazines.
I can also keep in touch with global trends
and names of the future.
It is really smooth and easy to get around,
with good interactive elements.
I love the consistently well written
features by respected journalists.
The app covers loads of sections from
Art, Culture, Film, Travel and more…
So I never miss out on anything!
