We all know someone who’s pushed a completely stock engine to the brink of destruction, but what about doing it in a truck you daily drive, tow heavy with, and depend on day-in and day-out? That’s exactly what Coltyn Du Pre has been doing for the past few years with this LBZ-powered ‘06 Silverado. It all started after his hunt for a reliable tow-rig concluded with the bone-stock, 180,000-mile, classic-body Chevy. From the outset of ownership, Du Pre wanted to make solid power with his Duramax, but he never imagined the factory rotating assembly and stock head bolts would still be holding strong at 725 rwhp.
