SOUNDTRACK – BLACK PANTHER
Already one of the highest grossing superhero movies of all time (is it any surprise since it stars a buff cast who enjoy getting shirtless?) the film’s music has been curated by R&B wunderkind Kendrick Lamar. Mid-tempo lead single, All The Stars featuring SZA sounds like Drake and Sia had a musical lovechild. The rest plugs into what’s hip and happening in the hip-hop world, especially Vince Staples’ positively filthy Opps (and we mean that as a compliment) and Zacari’s Afro-centric pulsating Redemption, putting Beyonce on future notice. The album closes with Kendrick’s Pray For Me, featuring The Weeknd, which might just qualify as the best song from a Marvel movie yet. Black power in action.
