The introduction of the new Time Team in Issue 525 sent something of a shockwave through Doctor Who fandom. Given that anticipation was already building for the new series of Doctor Who, nobody was more surprised than me at the attention this received – on the day of the announcement, Doctor Who Magazine was trending on Twitter and newspaper journalists were wanting to know why we’d made the seemingly radical decision to refresh the format.
