PUBLISHING KNOW-HOW
Are you writing your family history? It’s not unusual to want to pull together all your research into a coherent story, to make sense of the lives of your ancestors, and it can be incredibly satisfying to see your family stories packaged neatly together in a published book. But there is an important question to ask yourself as you set out on your publishing journey. Who is your book for? If you are writing purely to put everything you have learned through your research into some sort of order and to share it in an easy-to-digest format with the wider family, then you largely have free reign. However, if you intend to sell copies to the general public then not only should you invest in professional editing services and cover design, you must also consider your marketing plan.
