New sets of coins have been struck to celebrate the Platinum Wedding anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen and Prince Philip.
The Queen, 91, and Prince Philip, 96, married at Westminster Abbey on 20 November 1947 and are the first royals to mark a 70th anniversary. The Royal Mint’s platinum wedding coins feature a double profile portrait of the royal couple on one side, while the back shows them on horseback, with the words ‘wedded love has joined them in happiness 1947-2017’ inscribed around the edge. The collection includes a gold proof, fine silver, silver proof and brilliant uncirculated coins, priced from £5-£20.
