From 2 February Museum talks Chelsea, London. The National Army Museum has a range of free talks of interest to family and social historians, starting with a talk on 2 Feb, The French invasion scare and the literature of fear in Britain, 1797- 1805 (11.30am) when Dr Ildiko Csengei will explore poetry, pamphlets, letters, diaries and caricatures responding to the 1798 French invasion scare in Britain. A Vote 100 event takes place on 7 Feb (6.30pm) to mark 100 years of the Representation of the People Act, with an expert panel discussing the suffrage campaign; 9 Feb sees a talk on The secret life of propaganda posters in WW2 with Susannah Walker (11.30am); Returning soldiers, citizenship and the vote during the First World War is Dr Matthew Johnson’s talk on 16 Feb (11.30am).
