Dubbed Femmes Fatales, the winter issue is something of a ladies’ issue, with profiles of the Top Ten Hens, i.e. the UK’s best lady Guns, as well as steelhead supremo April Vokey, pheasant feather artist Clare Brownlow, hunt photographer Sarah Farnsworth and professional hunter Natasha Illum Berg – a few of fieldsports' leading women.

And as the pheasant season draws into it's most exciting months, we have dedicated 34 pages to this prestigious bird. We profile Stoke Edith, Wroxall and Edradynate shoots, David S. D. Jones reflects on the importance of syndicates, Simon Ward advises on tackling tall birds and we interview 22 times World Championship winner, George Digweed.

Also, sticking with game shooting, Rupert Godfrey reflects on how game meat was regarded by the Victorians, Marcus Janssen visits the German Blaser factory, Mike Barnes shoots Spanish partridges in Suffolk and Lord James Percy offers a fascinating overview of the bulgy eye situation and its implications to the moors.
