Our friends in the north are about to be spoiled for choice as the Outburst Queer Arts Festival takes over Belfast in early November. A cutting edge celebration of local and international LGBT+ talent, culture vultures can expect a rip roaring ten days of theatre, film, music, exhibitions and more.
Highlights include writer Stacey Gregg’s new show, Choices, about reproductive rights, while composer Conor Mitchell and the Belfast Ensemble take a topical look at political homophobia in Northern Ireland with two stunning new works at the Lyric Theatre – The Doppler Effect and Abomination - an opera challenging the DUP on their record of derogatory comments about LGBT+ people.
