WORDS RISA MERL
When we think of a snorer, a usual suspect comes to mind: a man. Maybe he’s a bit older, maybe slightly overweight, too. It’s the ubiquitous image we see in advertisements for snoring solutions. The male partner is making a racket as he sleeps while his long-suffering wife beside him holds a pillow over her head to muffle the noise. It’s no wonder the belief persists that it’s mainly men who snore, and that women snorers are the exception rather than the rule.
