Archaeology: the year ahead
Whether you’re a seasoned dig enthusiast or an armchair archaeologist there are plenty of archaeology projects to look forward to this year, with opportunities to get involved in a dig or watch live archaeology projects virtually from wherever you are in the world
1. Post-medieval dig, Edinburgh
Archaeologists at City of Edinburgh Council will be working with Edinburgh Archaeological Field Society on a project to explore Cammo Estate, a significant post-medieval estate located on the western approach to Edinburgh coming in from South Queensferry.

2. Tarradale Through Time, Black Isle
Tarradale Through Time is a three-year project organised by the North of Scotland Archaeology Society and partly funded by Historic Environment Scotland.
The project is based around Tarradale on the Black Isle and follows on from archaeological digs in summer 2017. There will be opportunities to volunteer on the dig as well as a community outreach programme.
