My problem bedroom
I was using the second bedroom as a hobby room and general storage area, so it was cluttered and messy.
I wanted to turn it into a proper bedroom so people didn’t have to sleep on the sitting room floor when they came to visit.
A bit about me My name is Kate Burton and I live in a two-bedroom Victorian terraced house in Hull.

How I made it work
I cleared the room, found a new place for some things, gave away anything that was no longer used and took the rest to the tip. I painted the walls and ceiling and bought an inexpensive carpet, then shopped around for pre-loved furniture, most of which I painted. I bought white Venetian blinds and curtains from Ikea to keep the room light and sunny.
