The 2014 Independence Referendum was the most significant political event Scotland has ever experienced. The debate witnessed those in favour of continuing within the 1707 Union pitched against those who believed Scotland would benefit from a return to full sovereignty.
The debate played out in the workplace, at home and in Town Halls the length and breadth of the country. There was passion and not a little anger, but there was no violence. Fuelling much of the debate was information supplied by competing camps. The pro-independence camp had Yes Scotland, the pro- Union camp had Better Together.
