THE LAST JUDGEMENT SECRETS REVEALED

Visitors are flocking to an innovative event in Rome which presents the Sistine Chapel in an immersive experience. Giudizio Universale: Michelangelo and the Secrets of the Sistine Chapel was launched this March at the Auditorium Conciliazione. The show, entirely dedicated to the Sistine Chapel, was conceived by artistic director Marco Balich in collaboration with the Vatican Museums, and features an original soundtrack written and performed by Sting, as well as Pierfrancesco Favino as the voice of Michelangelo. “I’ve created and produced many Olympic ceremonies all over the world, now I am proud to work on a show in our beautiful Italy,” Balich explains. “This is an operation that aims to engage and empower new generations with the masterpieces of our artistic heritage.” For ticket information visit www. guidiziouniversale.com. VIEWPOINT
The Ponte della Maddalena, otherwise known as the Ponte del Diavolo, straddles the Serchio river at Borgo a Mozzano, in Lucca, Tuscany. No one knows for sure who built it, but the legend goes that it was St Julian, who required the help of the Devil to complete it. The price: the soul of the first living being to cross. Cleverly, Julian used a piece of bread to entice a dog to pay the fateful fee.
