An organ recital was given on October 29 by the international organist Andrew Forbes, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Father Willis Organ in Knightswood St Margaret’s Parish Church, Glasgow.
The organ was initially built in Townhead Blochairn Church in 1866, and was the first Father Willis organ in a church in Scotland. When Townhead Blochairn was closed the building and organ were vandalised. In 1993 the organ was removed by a team of enthusiasts. and lay in a dismantled state until permission was given in 2002 for it to be rebuilt.
