PETER GRUNERT, EDITOR

EDITOR’S LETTER

… I’m impossibly excited to welcome my favourite animal to the pages of Lonely Planet Traveller, a pangolin (see p102 to meet him). Every day in the making of this magazine I enjoy learning something new, and in the past month that’s included the nocturnal habits of the creatures of Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park (leopards and pangolins among them); a recipe for a biscuit that reflects the dramatic history of Venice (p88); where to ride a cable car between the skyscrapers of New York (p66); and why friendly locals might just attack me with hammers in Porto (p51). As ever, I hope this issue also brings you a world of fresh discoveries.
