I’ve always insisted on real wheelchair access in each of my shops, and we have purposely set out our store’s internal geography so that everybody can comfortably browse the stock. The older gentleman, whose name I learned was Matthew, appeared to have undergone an absolutely beastly operation. I later found out bone from his hip had been grafted into his jaw and he was struggling badly with the after-effects of this hellish procedure. He was in a lot of pain and barely able to shift his weight in his wheelchair.
