THE BUSY festive period saw the Belford Hospital’s accident and emergency department emerge as one of the top performing mainland NHS sites in the country with 97.7 per cent of patients seen, treated, discharged or admitted within four hours.
It means the Fort William hospital’s A&E staff have once again met and exceeded the Scottish Government’s waiting time targets, according to latest figures.
Anne Boyd-Mackay, the hospital’s rural general manager, said she was delighted by the news and put it down to the hard work and dedication of what she called ‘our wonderful A&E team’.
