A REFURBISHED lodge on the shores of Loch Gairloch has opened a new centre in the hope of keeping the medieval arts of archery and falconry alive.
Shieldaig Lodge launched its new falconry and archery centre, Shieldaig Falconry, earlier this month. The centre features a wide variety of birds of prey including, falcons, hawks, buzzards, eagles and owls, and offers archery programmes for beginners.
General manager Ismit Antepli said: ‘Shieldaig Lodge is a beautiful setting for learning falconry and archery. We hope locals and visitors will enjoy the special experience of flying these birds.
