A MULL woman has written to the chief executive of Argyll and Bute Council over concerns about care for the elderly. Katherine Elwis wrote to Cleland Sneddon to highlight the lack of provision in Argyll, and in particular on Mull and Iona, for the elderly and those with dementia.
Mrs Elwis said: ‘Now that the Lynn of Lorne Care Home looks like it will no longer be a nursing home and may be under threat completely and you are considering closing Eadar Glinn, there is little or no provision for our vulnerable loved ones.
‘The community nurses, GP and hospital support on Mull was excellent but that was down to the people involved. They go above and beyond their remit and are stretched to their limits. This is not a basis for future plans.
