A PROJECT aiming to turn Oban into a university town is inviting people to drop in to its launch event today (Thursday March 1) in the Corran Halls.
Oban is already home to 800 students at the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS), Ballet West and Argyll College UHI. However the ‘Oban as a University Town Project’ explains on its website: ‘There’s a big difference between having these great places to study and Oban developing into a thriving university town.’
The free, all-day launch event, which runs from 11am to 7pm, invites people to find out about ‘existing courses and ideas for future developments’ and have their say in ‘shaping the future for young people and learners of all ages, local business and services in Oban’.
