MORE than 70 youngsters took part in this year’s ‘very popular’ Fèis Oigridh.
The three-day festival, which celebrates all things Gaelic, was held at Islay High School. It saw participants getting involved in musical workshops, with 35 of the youngest participants taking over the gym hall.
Some tutors travelled from the mainland to teach the children, with others – Ciara MacTaggart, Neil Kirkpatrick, Isobel Ferguson, Mairi MacGillivray and Simon Moran – hailing from the island. Also on hand to help out were Islay’s new Gaelic teachers, Ciorstaidh Alexander and Clair Reid.
