MULL rally driver Alasdair Currie dominated round three of the Fiesta ST Trophy and the N3 class with Steven Brown at the Plains Rally, Welshpool, last weekend until a broken driveshaft ruined hopes of the duo’s first win.
Currie and Brown led the way in the highly competitive championship from the start until the sixth stage, where a broken drive shaft forced the team to retire, just two stages from the end. Currie proved his ability and has excelled his own expectations already after just three rallies in the car. ‘I am delighted with the weekend. I didn’t push too hard and made sure I made no mistakes and it paid off. There were just nine Fiesta crews on round three, however, the pace was hot and there was only seconds separating the top three drivers.
