A DALMALLY-BASED charity has picked up an award from Channel 4’s Gogglebox star Reverend Kate Bottley.
Last week Rev Bottley announce the 2016 winners of the Speaking Volumes Christian Book Awards at London’s ExCeL and among the winners was The Shed That Fed A Million Children, written by Mary’s Meals founder Magnus Mac-Farlane-Barrow, which won £1,000 for the adult category.
Rev Bottley presented the awards at CRA’s first London Christian Book Fair. The Shed That Fed A Million Children, published by William Collins, is the story of how Mary’s Meals grew from being a one-off aid project during the Bosnian war to become a global organisation providing meals to more than 1.1 million hungry children every school day.
