A ‘SHOCKED’ highly-skilled workforce learned that 25 people are to be made redundant after its parent company contracted work to a new company operating in the UK, writes Louise Glen.
It is understood the job losses are due to come into force as soon as August 1.
In an anonymous letter to the newspaper, the staff said: ‘The Aggregate Industries’ site at Glensanda quarry, near Oban, have awarded the primary load and haul contract to a Spanish company, a newly created business named Oban Earth Works Limited.
