A rare Highland brooch
LAST week I referred to the Rev AlexanderStewart, the Church of Scotlandminister of Ballachulish who collectedinformation on the natural history, legendsand folk-lore of the West Highlandswhich, without his interest and foresight, would have been lost.
Scotland owes another debt to this manfor ensuring that one of the Highlandsmost beautiful and valuable 500-year-oldobjects found its way into the Museumof Antiquities in Edinburgh, now calledthe National Museum of Scotland, froma most unlikely place.
