Sir,
I write in support of Lord Dubs’ plea that we should take in – as in the kindertransport of the Second World War – as many lone refugee children as we have placements for, rather than the arbitrary cap of 350 proposed by the Westminster government.
With adoption, as with a natural child, every one should be a wanted child and not a mistake. Further, to have a child is a lifetime commitment which should be taken with the utmost seriousness.
