A giant inflatable duck called Daphne has been found a week after blowing away into the Indian Ocean. Daphne, who is the size of a small caravan and cost around £500, is owned by Cockburn Masters Club and was supposed to be used as a turning buoy in the Coogee Jetty to Jetty Swim in Perth, Western Australia. Unfortunately, strong winds allowed Daphne to make her escape on the morning of the race.
Despite a Facebook campaign to help locate Daphne, it was feared that the giant duck would never be seen again. But a week after her disappearance she was spotted by a fisherman off Rottnest Island, just west of Perth. The fisherman will claim a reward of a free family pass to the swim next year and a bottle of vodka.
