Fish Eye

“This is from a series taken with Martin Helseth, presently with the Norwegian Olympic team. I was a rower during my college years and later went heavily into underwater photography. In 2016 I decided to use the insights I’ve gained over the years in action photography to try and change the look of rowing; to add water to the photos, creating that wow-factor that was otherwise missing.

The water was freezing cold, in the fjord of Borgundfjord, close to Aalesund, Norway. The cameras used were Nikon D800 and Nikon D3x, with lots of artificial light and Sea & Sea waterproof housings.”
