ROLL-AND-WRITE
Last September, organisers held the first ever Roll-and-Write Global Jam where participants spent a week creating a game from scratch to be judged by a panel of veteran designers. Criteria for the jam established that submitted games should contain no more than six dice and a few sheets of paper for players to write on. Winners used the limited guidelines – and the jam’s “Autumn” theme – to put together fully-playable experiences that put interesting twists on a decades-old genre.
