There are differences between Blackheads, (comedo) Whiteheads (milner) and Open Pores. Blackheads are usually pores which are blocked by skin debris combined with the oil to form a plug. These usually can be removed safely, preferably professionally, without damage to the skin allowing the pore to then function normally. If you must do it yourself, cleanse the skin thoroughly and use a face-pack as this will help soften the skin. Taking a tissue, press each side of the blackhead gently until it starts to come out. If it does not move, leave it, let it build up a bit more and repeat the process a week later. After removal, apply a good skin toner and avoid makeup for at least 24 hours.
