On my travels in Italy recently, I came across a wine
called -
somewhat
unbelievably
- “Shemale”.It is, of course, a rosé. Despite the adventurous name it is in fact a serious wine from the Savuto DOC area; in other words it is a Denominazione di Origine Controllata wine (like the French AOC).It is made from three indigenous grapes, grown, fermented and bottled in the owner’s estate.
The wine is described thus:-
COLOUR: lively, bright with coppery tones.
