Sat 18th March 2017 was the second day of the March 2017 Weekend in Eastbourne. After a sumptuous breakfast, ten attendees led by Alison Penn left the hotel for the walk to the station. On arrival Sylvie and Susanne were delegated with getting nine return tickets from Eastbourne to Rye, whilst the rest waited on the concourse (I was using my free rail-travel courtesy of my ‘sugar daddy’). This was quickly followed by a group pictures using a gate as a tripod.
In order to have maximum time in the ancient town and cinque port of Rye, we travelled outwards on the 11:09 ‘Marshlink’ service that starts back in Brighton, arrives in Rye at 11:55 before continuing on to Ashford (Kent). Then we would be returning later on the 15:55 from Rye arriving back at Eastbourne station around 16:40.
