We are heading to our camp on Chief’s Island in the Okavango Delta. The boat journey from Maun, through channels of blue water glistening in the sunlight, is exhilarating.
Along the banks are numerous groups of elephant. The boat slows for us to view them, before speeding along again. Reed beds shimmer and dance in the breeze. Lily pads float effortlessly on the meniscus, anchored by their single root stem.
