The Achilles is the largest and strongest tendon in the body and is the combined tendon of the calf muscles (gastrocnemius and soleus). Achilles tendinopathy (AT) is a highly prevalent overuse injury which describes the clinical presentation of activity-related Achilles tendon pain, focal tendon tenderness, morning stiffness and restricted function. If you do not have these symptoms, you’re in luck: you do not have Achilles tendinopathy.
