The Castle to Cathedral to Cashmere writing competition is inviting entries of short stories set in the Scottish city of Elgin in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The competition, which is free to enter, is part of a heritage initiative. The winning entry will receive £350 and the runner up will get £150.
Entries must be original, unpublished and may be up to 3,000 words. Entries should be formatted as double-spaced Word documents with numbered pages. The writer’s name must not appear on the manuscript. Send entries by email with two attachments: the story and a completed entry form, which may be downloaded from the website.
