Michael Allen
It is now ten years since I first began to write this regular monthly column. In 2007 the editor kindly gave me a free hand as to choice of subjects, but for a variety of reasons I have usually chosen to look at the world of book publishing. I do so mainly with the aim of providing information which will be useful to anyone who wants to succeed as a novelist.
Continuing in that vein, the purpose of this particular column is to give you a very rapid oversight into what has happened to book publishing in my lifetime, and what is likely to happen in the near future. Maybe.
