Now that autumn is officially here, it’s time to turn your attention to all those seasonal tasks — like checking through your dog’s reflective gear, and examining your wellies for any splits and leaks that may have developed over the summer break.
It’s also a time for looking forward to Fireworks Night, particularly if your dog finds it challenging, and thinking about ways in which to prepare your pet and try to make the whole thing less stressful.
Karen Bush and Toni Shelbourne advise on how noise management can play a significant role in helping your dog to cope, and look at ways in which you can reduce the noise levels and your dog’s discomfort. Find out more on page 28 this month.
I love all the practical advice in this issue, in particular our regular ‘Tips from the Top’ feature, which focuses on how to keep your dog smelling sweet — something we all have to battle with on occasions. I’m the fi rst person to champion dogs smelling like dogs, but when our Norfolk Terrier, Bertie, comes across a pile of fox poo on his walks, the consequences are inescapable! So, I really appreciate our experts’ advice, and I’m sure many of our readers will, too (check out page 16).
