We had a great time meeting you at Crufts and if you picked up a new subscription at the show, welcome to your second issue! Hugely busy and popular as ever, Crufts is always a lovely show to attend and a chance to meet our readers. We stay over for the four nights and testing the various restaurants around the NEC (as you do!), it’s so nice to see all the well-behaved dogs sitting beside diners as a number of places allow dogs for the duration of the show. If only life could be like this all the time!
We heard some amazing stories (p26), saw some funny sights (p10), and managed to empty our stand of over 5,000 bags and 12,000 magazines! Looking forward to next year already…
Finally, though at the risk of sounding like a weather-obsessed rain-o-phobe, WHEN WILL IT STOP RAINING! (though please no hose pipe ban and drought calls in summer). On the plus, the ground might be wet, but the spring flowers are out and we had some fabulous entries to our spring photo competition (p11 & p12). I love this time of year, and walks become much more enjoyable, observing with fascination how our woodlands and forests change colours. If you’re lucky enough to live near a bluebell wood, then you’ll know the feeling too. A younger me would go walking with headphones in and music a little too loud for ear health, but nowadays I prefer nature’s sound and nothing beats the woods.
