A group of women are making and baking cinnamon buns, enjoying a bit of banter as they put heart and soul into the doughy beauties, lost in the pleasure of the moment in a way they might never have known before.
Open the door to this warm, spice-scented urban café and the air is buzzing with potential. The Luminary Bakery was founded three years ago by Alice Williams with the aim of bringing new focus and self-belief into the lives of women who have been through the hope-sapping situations of violent relationships, trafficking, homelessness and poverty.
