Delivery Magazine  |  Issue 60 JUN/JUL 2015

What’s new in Issue 60, on sale June 3rd

Boom or Bust – it’s June already

Fluctuating vehicle sales figures for the first half of this year have analysts predicting boom or bust scenarios. But when you work at the coalface you’ll know that business expenditure takes place when you are confident of being able to make a return on investment.

Fleet replacement isn’t something that can be left for longer than economically sensible. By not replacing vehicles at regular intervals you run the risk of losing asset value and also finding that maintenance costs head skywards.

In this issue all prospective vehicle buyers will hopefully find our annual Best of the Best vehicle awards to be of assistance when making their purchase, as the Delivery test team puts 23 different models through their paces.

Electronic stability control and traction control should be part of every purchase decision, and we are now seeing those choices enhanced by the availability of light commercial vehicles with additional features such as lane departure assist, adaptive cruise control and emergency brake assist.

In this issue we welcome Mike Woods of Latus Logistics Risks Specialists to provide advice on chain of responsibility (CoR) issues that affect all businesses, large and small. CoR impacts on all employers and employees, also extending through to your vehicle purchase decisions.

As well as our features on the quest to determine the best handling vans and utes on our market, we delve more into the background of the new Mitsubishi Triton and Ford Ranger, plus Dave Whyte visits the Bangkok Motor Show.

Recognising that all aspects of logistics requires materials handling equipment we are continuing our regular feature ForkTorque. In this report we visit Clark Equipment and discuss their products that include additional brands such as Bobcat and Omega.
