The power and durability of a diesel engine are well understood when you grow up on a family farm. Throw a module on the tractor, combine or semi, and you can add power with no ill effects, cover the same ground much quicker and consume less fuel while doing it. But once the focus shifts to personal vehicles— diesel pickups, for instance—farm boys tend to lean on their engines even harder.
