So many of you sent me messages and tweeted me in response to last month’s column about self-care. Apparently it hit the spot. So I really hope you are having “you time” and looking after yourself, because although many have said last year was tough, I think 2017 is going to be the year for challenges, here in the UK and abroad. I’ve mentioned in previous columns the issues around Brexit and the need for humanity, asylum and immigration, and safe spaces for queer people – mainly queer people of colour who face extreme racism within our very own LGBTQ community; there’s also much sexism and misogyny in a society which replicates patriarchal structures.
