Since its inception back in 2006, UK Black Pride has gone from strength to strength. We got the lowdown on this year’s event from co-founder and director “Lady” Phyll Opoku-Gyimah.
WHAT
UK Black Pride is an award-winning celebration and Europe’s largest notfor-profit event for African, Arab, Asian and Caribbean-heritage lesbian, gay, bi and trans people and their friends. Launched in 2006, stars including Jessie J, Misha B and Beverley Knight have graced its stage. Munroe Bergdorf, Chardine Taylor-Stone and comedian Gina Yashere (pictured) are just some of the names on the line-up this year.
