MEET THE BAND THAT MET ON GRINDR!

›› Take one red Viking and a musical whiz from Berlin and you have dark pop gay duo Draco Draco. Danny Polaris tells Marc Andrews it all began with an adorable cat jumper…

DNA: How would you describe the music you’re making as Draco Draco?

Danny Polaris: A mixture of pop, house and soul… and a bit of EDM, which David [Whiting; the band’s producer and instrumentalist] will kill me for saying.

How did you and David meet? I was bored in Stockholm and turned on Grindr. I saw Dave and really liked his jumper. It had cats on it.

I sent him a message saying, “I like your cat jumper!” and a few days later when I was back in London we started chatting and I mentioned my music and he mentioned his. He sent me a link to some of his stuff and I thought it was really good and I sent him a link to some of my vocals and so we met up in London about a month later. The rest is history.
