Capaldi Thinks Aliens

◾ Peter Capaldi narrated BBC Four’s Aliens: The Big Think on 21 April, which investigated the search for extra-terrestrials. His Titus Andronicus, filmed in Rome for The Complete Walk, was broadcast live from Shakespeare’s Globe on 23 April across 37 big screens between Westminster and Tower bridges, plus at landmark buildings in Liverpool and internationally. Shakespeare Live!, which David Tennant presented with Catherine Tate, received a DVD release on 23 May.

Royal Date

◾ Netflix has announced all ten episodes of its Queen Elizabeth II drama, The Crown, with Matt Smith as Prince Philip, will stream from 4 November (tinyurl.com/mattdate). Matt told Netflix’s April Paris showcase he understood the Royal Family far better as a result of playing the role: “We grew to love them quite a lot, in a much greater way than we ever did. I sort of learned a lot about the history of my own country that I was completely unaware of.”
