Over its record-breaking run, one of the very few features to appear in each and every issue of this title has been new fiction going beyond the Doctor Who TV series. And to give such the impact needed to compete with the surrounding photo-features, it was always intended such fiction would be equally visual... as comic strips. Artwork that would transcend budgetary restrictions, limited only by the imagination of the artist.
