Your views on everything going on in the hectic world of Doctor Who…

Can you believe it? The latest series is almost over! But before The Doctor Falls, let’s look back at some of his recent adventures, and find out what you thought of Extremis, The Pyramid at the End of the World, The Lie of the Land and Empress of Mars…

DOCTOR WHO EXTREME

PAUL BOWLER EMAIL Although in retrospect Extremis was actually just an elaborate set-up for the episodes that followed, there was still a wealth of exciting developments to enjoy in this story, with terrific performances from Peter Capaldi, Pearl Mackie and Matt Lucas, as the new TARDIS team faced their greatest challenge so far.

The Monks were great monsters, and very menacing. Steven Moffat’s script for Extremis was audaciously epic in scope and scale, presenting just as many questions as it did answers, and director Daniel Nettheim offset the striking visuals with a darkly atmospheric edge – especially during the library scenes. Extremis was a great episode and it set everything up for the next stage in this intriguing saga!

ROWAN WOOD (14) EMAIL Wow. Just wow. After I first saw Extremis, I just sat there, thinking about what I had just seen. The Monks! The Veritas! Virtual reality! Nardole’s secret badassery! To be honest, though, I was a bit disappointed when it was revealed that Missy was inside the Vault (I had hoped for a twist that no-one saw coming). But overall the episode was fantastic, among my favourites of the series so far!

MARK HOLDING EMAIL I had high expectations for Extremis and there were some great elements. It was certainly intriguing, and the Monks were scary. But ultimately I’m left baffled by the sense and logic of their scheme. I mean, they’ve managed to recreate in the tiniest detail a bang-up-to-date version of everyone and everything on Earth. Their recreated VR characters show that they even know the Doctor is blind, the email address of his sonic glasses, what the inside of the TARDIS looks like, the promise Nardole made etc. So why do such all-knowing, all-seeing god-like creatures need to act like the Kraals from The Android Invasion?! They don’t need a virtual world to learn about Earth – they already know everything about everything!
